Jackline Acheampong known professionally as Gyakie has been crowned the Best West African Act of The Year at the 15th edition of The Headies

The ‘Forever’ hitmaker beat competition from fellow countryman KiDi, Amaarae, Angelique Kidjo (Benin), Aya Nakamura (Mali) and Nelson Freitas (Cape Verde)

This is her first Headies award after she joined the music industry some few years ago.

Gyakie happened to be the only Ghanaian on the list as she walks home with the Best West African Artiste of the year award.

In reaction to that, she expressed her gratitude to her fans for their constant support.

Meanwhile, Nigerian popstar, BNXN formerly known as Buju, took home a brand-new 2022 Bentley, having emerged as the winner of the highly rated Headies’ ‘Next rated’ award.

Reacting to the award held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, BNXN appreciated the organizers of the award, and dedicated it to his late mother and other nominees such as Ruger, Ayra Starr, Zinoleesky and Lojay.

The 15th edition of the Headies took place in Atlanta, United States of America.
